Fangs for Nothing

Shannon Ryan's novella, Fangs for Nothing, is available for purchase at Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

I probably should have mentioned in the review that fans of paranormal (vamp) chick lit might like this book because they are the audience most likely to get the humor, being so familiar with how the plot is usually done in many vampire books. This book is not like chick lit in that the main character is a male and the author, also a male, pokes fun at the idea of vampires being romantic creatures that people fall in love with...his vampire Vinnie has a long learning phase.

But, in short, I really enjoyed this book. It was a fast read but it made me laugh several times and I happened to read it at a time when I really needed to read something that made me laugh (thank you Mr. Ryan).

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tongue in cheek anti-romantic vamp novella. Highly recommended for fans of paranormal chick lit, even though the main character is a male vampire who just happens to be a cross-dresser because the only job he can find that works around his "sunlight allergy" involves makeup. There's a few editorial mishaps, but the humor makes up for them. I look forward to a sequel.

I won a free copy of this book from LibraryThing in exchange for a review.
